Got the H-D heated vest. Layered between leather jacket and under armor long sleeve and a T-shirt. Chaps with Levis and long underwear. Leather gauntlet gloves with gator-skin liners. Fleece neck thingee. Got the Gerbing insoles for the feet.
Who rides in the cold? Is it possible to not freeze while riding? The other night was insane. Highway + winds= me freeeezing . What do you guys wear?
In the winter, I ride with a snow machine suit, it's a 2-piece set made of Gortex with Thinsulate insulation. And, being designed for "motorsports", the sleeves are longer. with velcro closures at the sleeves, legs, up the sides of the legs, and neck, I could use it wearing only gym shorts and a tee-shirt in temps. down to 30 degrees F and be comfy. And it's water tight like a frogs butt. "seal skin" socks from Bass Pro-shop, Treated boots, Full-face Bell Star helmet, and Gerbing heated gloves.
With wind chills down near zero; I'm more that comfortable.
I have a Warm and Safe heated liner and heated grips. Toasty warm down to freezing. Keeping you core warm is the key. Medium weight leather jacket and chaps to block the wind and you're all set.
If you decide to go the Warm and Safe route there is a way to save quite a bit off the price, PM me and I'll give you the info
I'm into HD liner and gloves. Looking forward to maybe pants from Santa this winter, as well as adjustable thermostat. Best, although expenxsive, investment i've mad. 3/4 helmet with full mask and covering for my neck and chin. I love the cold!
With a (possible) frost warning out for Sat. nite here in the TwinCities, its time to take the 'Wife Beaters' out of the saddlebags and put my Gerbing stuff in. I've been a user & fan for years. I ride into Dec. in comfort, only limited by how slippery the roads are.

Heated gear is your friend. Wind wicks away heat even from the best outer gear. (imo) You need to have something that replaces that heat besides your body burning calories.
What kind of bike do you ride? Windshield? Lowers? Fairing? Anything you can do to reduce the wind hitting your body helps fight the cold.

just my $.02 - If your looking to stay with HD heated gear, their heated pants are only liners. Pretty bulky to wear under jeans. Wifey & I looked into them then steered a different direction. Ended up going with the Gerbings over-pants instead. That way we can easily take them off once we reach our destination or it warms up. And do so in a parking lot without getting a indecent exposure ticket.
Long underwear, jeans, chaps, leather jacket (NOT "textile"), hoodie, gauntlet gloves and a full face helmet.
That might work for the Kentucky definition of cold weather but seriously you would turn into a Popsicle wearing that if you rode in what we northerners call cold weather.
