Lemon here as well 4 months problems still not resolved. barley getting 110 miles to a tank of gas, stalling when i pull in the clutch, feeling hesitation in 5th gear at 70.. Just bad.. 07 King with slip-ons and open air filter
Hope you get your problems worked out.
Sorry but an used 2007 does not qualify as lemon. The bike may have been perfect when it left the MoCo. A previous owner my have screwed up the map royally... ect.
I agree your bike has problems, but if they were self inflicted by a previous owner then the bike cannot be considered a lemon....
You might have the patience of Jobe, However this bike rolled off the assembly line with issues, 8 times it's been in the shop for a total of more than 75 days and it's still not fixed. HD should be embarrassed. We just want the functional $25k product we paid for. The fact that a turd occassionally makes it to the showroom floor isn't our problem, but HD doesn't get to keep our money. Lemons are not exclusive to HD, it's their lack of integrity that is forcing us to use a law to get them to correct their mistake.
PROOF
Where is it?
Show us copies of your service paperwork...
Copies of letters to the MoCo...
Copies of letter your lawyer sent the MoCo...
I have copies of all these things from my lemon law case...
Is it so hard to believe the OP? As he stated - lemons are not exclusive to the Moco. It can, and does, happen. While I would have liked to have more information, he at least followed up and posted the results - something that most newbs rarely do. Especially ones with screen names created for the sole purpose of the topic at hand.
No manufacturer is going to just trailer a new bike/car to your home and replace the defective one after a few phone calls. They will all fight it. I had a VW that fit the bill, but when it went to arbitration, all I got was a lifetime warranty on the car - not a new car. That's just swell but it was in the shop for something every other month which is a huge inconvenience. In hindsight I should have hired an attorney. But, it was a lease so they got to pay a ton to repair it and then take the pos back.
My 2011 Ultra had a bad crank. At first it sounded like it wasn't going to be covered due to some confusion on the dealer's part and because the motor had been modified (stage 2-107). It was quickly resolved and now the Moco is standing behind it. They are even working with me to pay for their portion of the work and parts and letting me upgrade the crank, which they didn't have to do. So I'm satisfied that the Moco will back me so far.
My advice to anyone that buys a new bike - build a relationship with your dealership. Give them the maintenance and upgrade work on your bike. If something goes wrong, they have all of your service records and they are your best resource for getting it resolved.
Several months later and numerous mind-numbing conversations with HD corp. but today it has finally concluded. HD is the proud new owner of the lemon they sold us and they've replaced it with a brand new one. Just a whole lot of wasted time and nonsense to ultimately do what should have been done 6 months ago.
You should give us the dealer and more bike info such as color and exact model so no member here goes to that dealer and buys it as a "garage queen"
I dont give a rats *** one way or the other, but this proves to me that the MoCo
reads this forum to see what "We" will, or will not put up with, "IMO", but opinions
are like ********, every one has one and they generaly stink. LOL
