Nope. Need to give left hand something to play with, otherwise it gets envy of right one playing with the throttle

Did it on a loaner bike once just to see if it could be done smoothly. Downshifting without clutch was no problem and smooth as silk. Up shifting not so much.

Never done it intentionally. Why would you want to shift without using the clutch? What advantage does it give you?

I do it at times. Hard to light a smoke and clutch at the same time. i have yet to trash a trans doing it.

You will , just a matter of when and how bad . Been there done that and got a couple busted tranny cases and nice chipped gears to back it up and it takes something to mash up a 4 speed .

I only did that when I rode Honda's. I treat my HD's better.
