I agreed with your first thread, that new riders should start out slow. Your posts on this thread are way too wordy. Learn to make your point in a more concise fashion.

There is always a give and take on here. Don't take it personal.

Going back to the theme of this thread, common sense suggests that if you don't like getting stuck by needles, it is best not to keep sticking yourself with them. You don't stick yourself repeatedly then complain that you are tired of it. You just stop sticking yourself and be done with it--no more discomfort. I stopped trying to figure some people out a long time ago, so I won't even ask why they keep returning for more.

Take the posters Night Train and Nitro Shark. For some reason, they keep entering posts I create just to tell me how tired they are of my posts and that they have stopped bothering to respond to them or read them. Fair enough. But obviously, there is an obsession somewhere in there. Anyone would realize that this behavior doesn't make a whole lot of sense. NT's posts are all one-liners, profanity, or attempts to incite someone. The poster never offers serious discussion and the poster just shows up in other folks' threads at random intervals to cut someone down or toss around some profanity or tell people they are not hardcore enough. That's it. That is the limit of contributions to the forum. They will then enter the thread of someone attempting to have a serious discussion and it turns into a condensed version of study hall, spit ***** flying, cusswords, and posturing in vain attempts to portray an image of being hardcore. In other words, total lack of maturity and pre-teen behavior exhibited by grown adults.

You're exactly like Cliff Claven the mailman on the old Cheers show.

Full of pretentious, long winded BS, and totally ignorant that others see you just that way.

I'm reminded of this clip from the show, and only wish that we could all have a button onsite that would have the same results everytime you dump another huge steaming pile in the forum.

Personally, part of the very reason I come to HDForums is to read MiniWolf's threads. His posts single-handedly bring more entertainment to a monotonous day than any other refuge short of sex, drugs, and rock n roll.

Dude, you're sanctimonious posts and never ending amounts of BS really wear on a lot of the members. Are you so blind and ignorant to not see this? I read your other post (cause I knew it would entertain as always) and don't think that EVERYONE rode your *** about making a mistake. If memory serves, most posts either agreed with you or made the general statement of "you did what you could, now it's up to your relatives to decide what's best for them". The few posts I remember slandering you were from those who are really sick of you arrogance and self righteousness and was only pointing out the manner in which you went about meddling in their lifes. It was offensive and rude.

Sounds like good advise to me.

I rode for thirty years then took a ten year hiatus. When I decided to start riding again, I took the MSF class, passed, then worked up to riding literally full time again. That was a year ago. I just got my 13 Heritage.
My son-in-law wanted to get a bike and start riding. I told him take the MSF class then we'll start looking for a bike. He did, and passed. we got him a Vulcan 500 for a starter. Not a Harley, but hey, he drops it, no big loss. After he gets some serious hours, maybe a Harley could be in his future, if thats what he wants to do...

Guys, to use one of Night Trains quips, I am not the one here getting my panties all bunched up in a wad over someone else's post. If you let what someone else writes on an internet forum get you this worked up, there are more issues here than my posts. I cannot address these issues. They are not mine.

People are here responding that they are tired of reading my posts, but complain because they just read another one of my posts. Which, as I said, makes absolutely no sense. It is absurd. Nobody forces anyone to read my posts. Just don't read them. There is an ignore feature. It is not difficult to use. Just click it and you will be done with it for good. It is that simple. If you read my posts and get upset, I cannot help that. That is on you.

As far as insults, again, I am still waiting for anything of substance in terms of specifics from the 'experts' to back up their assertions that I have been stating falsehoods and other assorted nonsense. Give me specific examples, not another quip or one-liner. The truth is that you can't give an example and are simply furstratred by this fact and have no recourse but to continue insulting as the only means of response. You do not like the fact that someone does not go with the flow and say what people want to hear or act the way someone wants them to act. I say what I mean. I make no pretenses. What you see is what you get. Some people cannot handle that, especially on a forum devoted to an activity where individuality is really only a cliche for most. What I have learned is that the reality is most people who ride bikes despise individuality. Most of those who ride dress the same, act the same, talk the same, all in an effort to conform to the herd and status quo. They are followers, not individuals. Individuality in thought or deportment is actually shunned.

Any MSF instructor can tell you that there's a lot of people that don't have what it takes to ride a cycle, but there are some that are just "naturals" .

Recomending that someone take the course first, whether it be MSF's or Rider's Edge, could easily save their life. Starting with a smaller bike and working their way up.....Best advice you can give.

Congratulations on the new bike. I know that feeling of working up. It took me a couple of months on a small cc bike to get comfortable enough to get a bike I really wanted.
