I have had the same bullhide chaps for 30 years, I rarely ride without them.
They have saved me from road rash a few times.

I got a cheap pair of lined ones from leatherup for like $45. Went cheap in case I didnt like them. Now I zip em on everytime the temp is below 50. Easy on, easy off. I just have to remember to keep my feet off the highway pegs so the wind doesnt blow up them!

Due to the weight of the leather pants I wear thick suspenders and they work great!

They look like jeans and they have side zippers to make them easy to get on and off over your regular pants

There are plenty of mornings and evenings in North Dakota that having the extra layer for warmth is a good thing. I had a pair of textile over pants for awhile. I had them melt on my pipes once and they were just a pain to store on the bike. Chaps are much more useable.
