This is the perfect time for me to chime in and address the "YOLO" supporters. If you think your job is secure, think again. This is exactly why I choose to buy only what I can afford...with cash. I'm not going to keep financing my way through depending on a steady check to keep what I've financed. You only live once is a cop out and an excuse for living for the minute. Go ahead, but I'll still be on my scoot and have a roof over my head with hot water when the man hands me my pink slip.

Sorry to hear this...they helped me out with an electrical problem at the begining of a long trip. I was in and out of there within an hour.... And a old friend of mine owns the building they are in.
Gonna be a problem for folks with warranties...the nearest dealerships are in Yakima and Silverdale.

They're truckin' everything over to the Silverdale store, the way I hear it.
A bummer for the employees...been hearing that HD is squeezing out some dealerships that don't jump thru their hoop, but who knows?

Bought some mirrors for the Sportster... some gas stabilzer (winter is nigh), and chrome oil filters for both bikes. And a few doodads for givin' away at Christmas...for 1/3 off...and a pair of chaps for half off.
We have 2 (that I know of) independent shops in the area, and I do most of my biz at one of 'em if I need parts or anything...still, kinda sad to see the dealership leave.
My local dealership, which is very nice had to make changes per HD. They wasted money changing lighting and shelving along with backdrop by HD's orders. This is a nice dealership and they are struggling with this slow economy. To burden them with this while not doing anything as a corporation to increase business sucks in my opinion.

That's how the bean counters operate- everything are numbers and risk assessment for profit.
Jobs, insurance, medical...all aspects of life.
I looked in the Wenatchee newspaper and didn't see any mention- it's a shame because both sides of my family live there and I planned to visit this summer and like a H-D in town.
Companies do this sudden thing because they want the employees to stay 'till the end instead of finding another job before the place closes, or they figger some employees might decide to pilfer some stuff since they're losing their job anyway. Happened to me 30 years ago. Lost my job in a medical supply company; should've figgered sumpin' was up when they asked for my key to the storeroom, THEN told me my job was ending.
Just think of all the money I could've made fencing those hot walkers, crutches, and canes!

Wow! I'm glad you pointed this out, I never quit looked at it this way. So since I need to work to afford things I need to take a different approach and prioritize. The more I think about it Im putting the Limited up for sale as soon as I get done with this post. I dont ever want to be considered a YOLO so Im starting with the Limited. You know what screw that, Im just getting rid of the OL, she costs more than the bike. What do you say to that? You would probably say keep the OL, wouldnt you? I'm just glad the world is full of folks that know how to Git-R-Done!
