Default Exhaust Question

Two years ago I installed slip on mufflers and had a Stage 1 tune. Thinking about going with a full exhaust. Will I have to have the bike re-tuned? Thanks for any input.

Others more informed may chime in but my understanding is if you did the HD Stage 1 download there is only one canned program used for any and all so called "Stage 1" setups. That means that no matter what high flow air intake or exhaust combo you use, the canned map is the same. Now if you have a tuner such as PC or SERT you will be able to dial in your new setup more precisely. I recently was in your situation whereas I needed to replace the stock headpipe which I had been running Rinehart slip-ons with my Stage 1 (along with the Screamin' Eagle air cleaner). I ultimately ended up putting a PCV on it due to not being really happy with the factory download.

You may be perfectly happy without doing anything after the exhaust change.

I had a Stage 1, SEAC and SE slip-ons and changed the exhaust to a 2-1 Thunderheader with no other changes and the bike runs good.
