1. At what mileage would one expect to replace brake pads front/rear? I have 7500 on my sporty now and am wondering if the front is due.
2. I had my bike in for service a month ago for a primary leak. They said that primary had leaked on the rear pads and they needed to be replaced. Does this make sense to anyone? I would think some brake cleaner and a rag would solve that.
If I had oil on my pads I would replace them for my peace of mind. Not a hard job and if you can't stop, you know the outcome.
Pad wear depends on several things, such as, speed, hard stopping, riding the brakes, temperature's, etc. using too much rear brake, and not enough front brake, you should use them together and more front % than rear when stopping.
I changed my front pads after 25000 but they didn't really need it ,I also have dual discs
the rears are another I'm lucky if I get 8000 every time I change my back tire I change the pads

I can't believe that they would let the bike out the door like that.
