Deer crossing
I'm not even a mile from my home yesterday on the way to work around 6:00 am when I spot movement near the right side of the road near the crest of a hill. I quickly slow from 45 mph (the speed limit on a 4 lane divided street) when 2 deer dart about 25 feet in front of me. Then, about 4 more do the same. I'm thinking, "c'mon, hurry-up!", because I can see a car approaching in my mirrors that has probably not spotted them crossing or perhaps me and I am barely rolling forward to keep my balance. Finally, the last one crosses in front of me and off I went.
I've hadn't seen them in that area before, but it was a reminder for me that stuff can happen fast at any time.

Thats my biggest fear with riding...deer.
You can kind of predict the cager idiots but deer are just spastic. Its getting to be winter, its hunting season and its rut season so there are extra stupid this time of year.

Deer seem to be the universal threat when it comes to riding.

What makes these guys worse is that they're eyes don't shine in the light. If you hit one of these you ain't getting back up.

i agree with that woman ....it wouldn't be a problem if the liberal pinko government would move all the deer crossing signs to less populated areas.

c'mon guys...most deer cannot read. the smart ones have all read the signs and cross where they are supposed to. this is all part of mother nature's plan...she is thinning the herd. i do my part-even placed a deer crossing sign close to my deer blind!!

There is a deer around here that was raised by humans until it was grown and then went back into the woods to be a deer instead of a pet. When it crosses it stops, looks both ways and waits for the traffic to clear. Looks funny as hell.
