IF the accident is hard enough lace up or not you may loose them...my brother was t-boned on his FXR and it knocked him out of his USMC issued Danner boots....
THese are what I wear day in day out...
This is what I have been wearing for 5+ years now at my day job which is an hvac technician/building engineer. I wear Bates Duroshocks which I have had for 5+ years working my volunteer law enforcement job in the evenings. The Bates are super comfortable and not too heavy. I purchased them new back then for $99 and are still going strong. The Danner Quarry boots I use everyday (pictured above) are starting to come apart at the soles finally(I use them in tougher enviroments). I will have them re-soled with the same type vibram soles. I purchased the Danners back then for $175 off Sportsmanguide. I wear the Bates when I ride my iron. Danner makes an unbelievably excellent boot!
Yup yup! Been wearing them for years. Comfy right out of the box and some measure of built in protection for your shin and ankle. Steep price, but buy once and never worry about it again.
I've been checking these Sidi boots out for a while trying to make a decision. Glad to read the endorsement of the Sidi Canyon boots, I've been looking for something that has great looks and even better protection, these seem to fill the bill. When it comes to your feet good protection is never too expensive. The bitterness of poor quality remains, long after low pricing is forgotten.
Love the looks, feel and protection of 17 inch tall Chippewa Engineer boots. Made in America. Wear forever and stay dry. Never needs polishing with the oiled leather. Check them out.
I don't like lace ups since I dropped a bike once cause the lace got caught around my shifter and I didn't know it until I came to a stop and couldn't put my foot down to catch it so now I only wear ones with zippers.
