yea I had one not like that but was wired into the bikes alarm. it only worked for about a block, went off anytime i was near a microwave, it drove me crazy.
I am paranoid as it is, don't need false alarms.
You can use RadioShack siren, a lot less expensive. Do a search. My ride already comes with moco siren when I picked it up, I just need to add a pager.
I bought my bike used. Previous owner installed a Cobra alarm system. It has a perimeter alarm as well as the usual stuff. It also has a remote fob. It can be set for various sensitivity levels so it can be set and not go off just with someone standing too close. I don' even use the perimeter sensor.
