It probably has an after market speedo on it that's why only 93 miles. If you check out the 2nd pic you can see a starter solenoid so it does have elect start just can't see the starter.
im trying to get the bike started but i know i need a starter solenoid and a relay. just trying to make sure i get the right parts.

I looked close and can see the solenoid too. Not sure where they put the started on this ride.
It does have a kicker and there were some combo setups in the early days and some aftermarket conversions available too.
Guess someone will come along and fill us in on this...
the title is clear. doesnt show salvage or rebuilt. but the vin listed on the title is the number i gave you CA748038. i am guessing its a custom bike. there are no stamped numbers in the frame that i have found yet. it shows year first sold 1985 but the engine numbers come back as a 1981 evo 1340. this is what i have found by using my best friend google.
The title should say who the manufacture is. If it was built as a custom they usually say special construction or might have the name of the frame manufacture on it.
Motor vehicle VIN number changed in 1981 to 17 digits. Cars were 11 digit before that and I think old trucks we less. It's possible that its older than a 1981. Check and see if you see 1 for domestic production and HD then those numbers to equal 1HDCA748038.
a buddy of mine has paid me for the work i have done on his ranch by giving me a harley. i am having issues decoding the vin and thought i would ask you guys for help. the title and frame both say ca748038. i am assuming this is a rebuilt bike because thats not a harley vin. the engine code is BBLF011682. from what i gather on that engine is its an evo 1340. the engine has an s&s carb on it as well. he knew nothing about the bike. he bought it years ago and after 5 back surgerys he only had a chance to ride it once. the things i do know are the bike has 93 original miles and its a 1985. ill try and post a pic of it. im trying to get the bike started but i know i need a starter solenoid and a relay. just trying to make sure i get the right parts. thanks for any and all help guys. please dont beat me up too much.
Grease,
As you alluded to, your frame isn't a Harley frame it's a custom frame, and is probably titled under "special construction."
Your engine number however, tells us plenty.
BBLF011682
BB=Super Glide Fat Bob (FXEF)
L=80" Evolution Engine
F=Model year 1985
011682=6 digit sequential number
Starter relay should be 71463-73A
Starter solenoid should be 71469-65B
I saw a new Accel starter solenoid for $39 on Ebay. Probably twice as much if you buy from the dealer assuming that this part isn't obsolete.
A couple of things I noticed is that type shocks have not been around for a long time. It almost looks like an old late 70's or early 80's bike with an EVO type engine. The engine has non stock HD lifter guides. I have never seen any like those before. Very interesting.
