One of the local HD dealers posted a list of the discontinued models for 2014 earlier today. It looks like they removed the post but here's what I saw from memory:
Road Glide Custom
Road Glide Ultra
Electra Glide Classic
Softtail Blackline
Road King Standard
It looks like the rumors were true with no Road Glide for next year. Kinda surprised about the Road King though.
My local dealer told me:
Discontinued in all global markets
XR1200X
FXS SoftailŽ BlacklineŽ
FLHTC Electra GlideŽ Classic
FLTRX Road GlideŽ Custom
FLTRU Road GlideŽ Ultra
Discontinued in North America only
FLHRC Road KingŽ Classic
This is the same list that I saw but I coulda sworn that it was the FLHR Road King being disco'ed and not the classic. The classic is a much better seller so it would make sense for the standard to get the axe.
At the motorcycle show this weekend, I heard they were going to add liquid cooling to the touring line. They would redesign the fairing to add an internal, hidden radiator in the front like a car grille, but with a non-descript grille. They wouldn't touch the Electra or Street glide at this time but are going to redo the front end on the road glide with this new fairing. Due to the added weight, the fairing will be fixed like the Road Glide and not attached to the forks. It will no longer be the road glide and will be the first liquid cooled tourer.
