Default Tires

Hi
I am looking for new tires for my 2007 electra glide classic. I have bought tires from the local HD dealer. I was wondering where online might be a good place to purchase.
Thanks
Crazy Bear

Depends on what tire brand you are looking for but RevZilla has great prices on the Metzelers and Dunlop American Elites. I am changing my tube tires for the new Metzelers 888s and hopefully will have a report in a few weeks on they these tires ride and perform.

www.denniskirk.com
www.motorcyclesuperstore.com
www.chaparral-racing.com
EBAY...

Plus they only came out this past year so you are assured they will be fairly new...

Check prices and look at shipping. Three sets of tires ago I ordered on line. Got the tires delivered to the front door. Used tire spoons to remove old tires and mount new tire. I didn't save enough money ordering tires to make it worth it since I no longer want to tire spoon tires off of rims by hand. Pay to get them mounted. Find cheap mounting but drive further. Cheap tires, expensive shipping, mounting charges. Free shipping ---the tires were more expensive---cheaper tire but pay for shipping made the tires about the same as free shipping. Most motorcycle shops in my area were comparable to my local dealer once all the charges were added up. It was like the pea in the shell game. Just my two cents.

Oh Boy! Another tire thread!

Actually, I've had good luck/experiences with Dennis Kirk with both my Harley and Suzuki.

Just bought a new set of ME880's from Dennis Kirk for the EGC. DK prices fluctuate, they were 'down' last week and I paid ~$315 for both front and rear with narrow whitewalls, replacing the original Dunlops. Free shipping.

I'll take them to the local Indy and have them mount and balance the new, $25/wheel the last time I took wheels to him...so I'm done at around $375.

I've bought from Dennis Kirk and Motorcycle Superstore--both free shipping and at the door in a couple of days. I will continue to buy from whoever is cheapest with what I want. No worries with either place.

You can find Dunlop American Elites all over ebay. Many with free shipping. I just bought mine there as a set; $313 front and back plus free shipping. Just about all of the vendors I've seen listed in this thread are on ebay as well. It's worth a look.

I wonder how the ME888 are gonna do ..Since the ME880 get such low miles i will be curious how long the 888 do. If they last over 10000 i might try a set. We might start seing the leftover 880 go for cheaper now? who knows...
