My '75 FXE was an AMF bike. I always thought it was odd looking because I thought of bowling when I saw it. It was a good bike and I had it for 6 years. I got it new for $3200.

There were problems with AMF but they brought HD into the modern era of bike assembly. They expanded into areas they should have stayed away from and learned from those mistakes. That coupled with the tariffs on the Jap crap are part of the reasons that HD survived so that by 82 HD was again purchased by Harley Davidson
