Done with winter mods yet?
New solo seat and Burly shocks for the Sportster soon.
Not much time involved in any of these mods...
I still would like to see about a second rear fender for the Springer, and cut it short. Might have to see if I can find a used one nice & cheap.
But my dumbass bought all my parts out of order, and some unexpected expenses came up so now theres a delay... I bought a set of thunderheaders and an air cleaner, but have to wait for a tuner so I cant put those on yet... Then I bought grips, levers, mirrors, but have to wait and save up for new handlebars so I cant put any of those parts on there either... I SHOULD HAVE just bought all the parts for the stage 1 upgrade and at least got that done instead of buying parts all over the place... It's gonna be like May before I have all my upgrades on there...
I warned a friend when he bought his first Sporty a couple years ago. He thought I was exaggerating until he was buying a brand new Iron Sporty 8 months later, and dropping $4000 on top right at the time of purchase.

And yes, researching upgrades in terms of "long term/big picture" is always good. Look at what all different mods you want to do, and see how they all interact with eachother, and you'll see that getting what seems easiest and cheapest isn't always automatically what you should get first.
I held off getting new pipes on my Springer for about 2 months, because I knew I'd be doing a cam upgrade over the winter. Figured it'd be a waste of effort to put new pipes on just to be taking them back off again to pull the cam out. Wait and do both at once, save a little time/effort. Pull stock pipes off, do cam change, put new pipes on.

Though really, there's no reason you can't do the grips, levers and mirrors right now. Levers & mirrors are so stupid-simple & you don't have to take them off the control housing when you swap bars.
Grips might be decent idea to wait, if you want to make it easier dealing with the throttle cables.
Tins are out for paint, leather engraving for seat is not even started. Engine is apart.
I am making slow but steady progress....but I have another bike I am riding in the meantime.

Last year was a big one... New bars, fairing, wheels, paint, and a few other things. Now I bike is pretty much where I want it, with the exception of maybe cams. Might also go HID. But besides that, I could use a set of new tires soon, and a fork service...
CVO handle bars, chrome controls, hidden wiring, inner painted fairing, chrome front end kit, chrome rotors, garage opener mod, new plug wires, speed bleeders and a bunch of minor chrome bolt swap outs, ALL done!
EXCEPT, she walks in the garage last Saturday as I fire it up for the first time, "you know those stock rims are ugly now...." Shopping for wheel packages, sigh it never ends!
I rode out of Green Bay last year on March 15th for the first time. I hope the snow keeps hammering Minnesota instead of us.
