Need some advice.
I purchased a heated jacket liner ( Gerbings ) from the Billings, Mt Harley Davidson dealer on Friday. I also bought a lithium battery pack for it that the dealer recommended.
When I got it home ( 130 miles away ) and read the fine print on the jacket manual it said the jacket was a "plug-in only" and needed to a hybrid to use with a battery. When I read the fine print on the battery pack it said to limit product use to 4 amps. Jacket says it's 6.5 amps max.
Has anyone tried using a battery pack with a plug-in jacket? What happened?
Thanks in advance.
The lithium battery may overheat, not good. I'd stick with using power from the bike, especially if you're planning on riding more than a hour or two at a time. Nothing worse than the battery losing its charge on a cold day when there's hours to go to your destination. Call them and have them send you a prepaid label for you to ship it back for refund it was their screw up.
