Default HD Light Module Kit

This past weekend, the wife and I were up in Redwood City for the niece's 25th birthday. We stopped in at Peninsula HD to pick up an 03 Softie Parts Manual and I cruised the stuff on the walls.
There, by itself was HD #69462-06A: Run, Brake, Turn Signal Module Kit. Fits 02 - 03XL, 02 and later Dynas (Except FXDXT) and 02 and later Softails equipped with stock turn signals (except FXSTD). Retail was $54.95. The kit came with the module, some wire ties, and two red lenses to replace the yellows.

Got home yesterday and installed it. It took longer to remove and reinstall my Mustang seat than it took to put in the module. Now, I have to bright red running lights instead of dark turn signals. The bulbs don't need to be changed to dual filaments. The module works great and I couldn't be happier now that I'm a little more visible at night.

It's worth the bucks.

Been giving serious consideration to this and other additional lighting. I like to ride at night, but I want to make sure I can be seen. I wouldn't want anyone to run me over by accident.

I used the Biketronics, Tailbones converter, whenI switched my rear signals to LEDs. I am fairly sure I paid more for it than the price of the HD model. Plus I paid for shipping. Who would of thought that HD would sell their model cheaper.

I have the older version and I prefer it over the new model. The one I have only converts your turn signals into brake/turn signals and don't operate as running lights. Easiser to tell when you're braking when the red lenses on your rear turn signals only light up while braking. I do agree any additional lighting is good, just prefer the older version.

I had the older one on my 98 Electra Glide, but it won't work on my 07 Ultra Classic. As I recall, the brake lights worked, but the turn signals didn't work, not even the front ones.

I assume it has something to do with the security system or maybe the cruise control, neither of which my old bike had. Does anyone know how to get the older one to work, or know why it doesn't work?

Cheap insurance for sure. I recently added the LED 1156 red bulbs and that really brightens things up!!!

I got the Kuryakyn setup. It costs about the same as the HD but it flashes the lights 3 times then goes steady. I also added the LED taillight/turn signals. A bit spendy but looks great.

Installed on my Springer this last weekend....took about 3 minutes, and that included removing the seat. I like the way it works too!
