I use Sta-bil in everything that sits for more then a few weeks.
Lawn mowers, pressure washer, chain saw, blower, bike, classic car, etc, etc.
Not sure if it makes a real big difference?, but I can say that I've never had an issue with any of my gas powered items, and it certainly doesn't do any harm.
naw fckit. This year I didn't even bother with a battery tender. It sat for over 4 months, I went out last weekend and fired the **** up. Started up just like I shut it off yesterday. Oh and I didn't notice any flatspots on the tires either.
Since it already sat, I would siphon out as much as possible and put some fresh gas in it. I've also started using StarTron fuel treatment in my gas motors. I know snake oil, but one doesn't know how much ethanol really goes in the fuel any more.
Last summer I had to replace all the gas line inside the tank.... The ole Pin holes
So up to this winter, I did use STA-BIL, but not this winter..
Knowing that gas with Ethanol seems to adding to the problem I have since used it only if I have to.
Also I've read that the Gas addivities have Ethanol or something in them that will cause the holes in the gas lines also..
So this winter I made sure I had pure gas in her before I put her away in late NOV.
Since I fired Her up about a month ago no issue, started like always.
It was in the mid 50's outside and if it warms up this week I'll do the same.
Before I hear all the (DON'T ever start her up in winter) comments.. First she stays in a heated garage (65*) and I have 2 large 20'' HD commercial fans that I put one on each side toward the jugs and I let her run till the oil temp is around 210.
