The front wheel on an 08 FLHX is 16". The front wheel on your bike is 18". I'm also pretty sure the axle size on the 08 is one inch and I know the axle size on the 12 rim is 25mm. So the 08 axle is .4mm bigger.

not sure when the axle change occurred, but the fact that one is 16 and the other 18 is no big deal. the profile on the tires is such that the overall diameter between the 2 is within the thousandths of an inch.
and even with the different axle/bearing sizes, that isn't a big deal either. the bore on the wheel is the same, just have to use the proper axles/bearings for your app.

He's right. Even if it was a larger diameter it wouldn't make a difference on a non ABS bike. A larger overall diameter wheel on the front of an ABS bike would cause an ABS event given the wheels are judged at different rotational speeds.
But it will require two new 25mm bearings, the old ones will have to be pulled and replaced. Not a big job but it does require some special tools and the bearings are about 22 bucks each.
The only other downside is that when buying tires you'll have to remember that the 16" is non stock and take into account that newer models use the 18". At some point, tire selection and availability may become an issue.
I was gonna type all that in the first place but decided against it cause I didn't want to ramble. But Skratch is right, you can make it happen (as you can with about anything Harley) but it sure isn't a turn key job.
