I bought one two weeks ago and put it on my bike last week. Due to winter weather, yesterday was the first day I went riding and had the opportunity to use the gas cap hanger. It works great! No problems with it falling off or any chance of it scratching the paint.
Mightywarlock's product works 100% as advertised. I would recommend it to anyone concerned with where to put the gas cap when refueling....
Although I'm fairly picky about not dropping it, the wife already dropped mine and of course it landed chrome side down on the concrete 2 months after I got the bike!

i just put it on top of my gloves on my seat. makes it real difficult to take off without it!!
I am just wondering, for some of you guys that have actually bought some of the gas cap hangers,
What do you think? How do you like it? do you find it an easy useful little product, or not?
When I first saw this thread, I thought Geez, you have got to be kidding me. A gas cap hanger? How retarded do you have to be to need a gas cap hanger. Then I went to the website and gave it a look. I have the HD flush mount gas cap, and all I have to do is leave it behind once, and it's an expensive replacement. So I bought one. Cheap insurance. Hell, I paid $135.00 for an HD oil dipstick! Now that's retarded.
Got mine last week put it on yesterday, this (and the KleverLever) is the best cheap accessory ever. Well made and well worth it. I'm even thinking of buying a few to give or re-sell to buddies.
if anyone wants to buy some in BULK, just let me know.
the prices get better the more you buy.
and i am glad to hear the positive reviews.
and i should also thank HDForums for not deleting these posts. I am not really a vendor, just someone trying to help out other riders with something i think is kind of a good product, and i have had some troubles with these on another big website with them deleting posts and expecting me to pay them for advertising, just to talk about these things. Not only do they charge a membership fee, but then they wont even let you post anything you want.
so cheers to the friendlier folks here at HDForums.
And thanks to those of you who have bought the Gas Cap Hangers from me. I've got plenty more on the way, so if ya want one, get em while their hot!

I received mine a few days ago. Your Gas Cap hanger does not work with HD's flush gas cap, because the threaded portion of the cap houses the springfor the cap mechanism.

I was thinking the same thing... and after the visit to the website? I still do. No offense to anyone but I've been riding 23 years and I've NEVER left a gas cap at the pump... $200 sunglasses? Yes... but never a gas cap. And I've always, always set it on top of the pump... besides, a box of large paperclips is only $1... callme crazy[&:]

I usually just hold on to mine. I like to sniff the cap for the gas fumes. MMMMMM gas fumes.
I'm too ****, I wipe the cap with a small ragwhen I take it off and then wipe it again before putting it back on. Like some of the post, I'd ride off without my helmet, glasses or gloves or passengerbut NEVER the cap.
