Hi all.
Looking at a 99 Sportster. The odometer reads 033803. The seller says it's 33 hundred, not 33 thousand. He says the last digit is the one past the decimal, they just don't show the actual decimal point. Any input?
The bike is mint and I would have a hard time believing it has the higher number of kms. Just seems strange to me. I can always figure it out with a test drive.
Thanks
If the last digit is a different color than the rest of the digits, then he is right, it's the 1/10th counter. But yes, a test drive would remove all doubt if not.
Also, on the back side of the speedo is a rubber coated button. Push it in to see if it is on the odometer or trip-meter. I can't remember whether the odometer as the tenths spot or not, as I leave mine on the trip-meter to act as my fuel gauge.
