I like my windshield just below my line of sight because when it rains it is difficult to see through the windshield. I simply look over the windshield when raining or dirty.

Look over it, hands down. I replaced the one I bought with a lower one after 1 season.
I only use it when its cold. I hate the windshield but for cold weather its good. It should be so you can just look over it comfortably.

You guarantee yourself clear visibility all the time by looking over the shield. Looking through the shield is mostly for weekend riders I suppose. Looking through the shield works well for those who ride their bike while loaded on the back of a trailer.

That's what I did with the w'shield for my Deluxe -- lowered it about 4", to where my line of sight is just over the top in a normal riding position. Cutting it was a bit tense, but no problems and I'm well pleased with the result!

had the windshield on my Heritage cut down 3" as the top was in my line of vision on the horizon. One night in pouring rain freaked me out enough to get it cut the next day, I couldn't make out the difference between traffic signals or car rear lights.

I usually keep mine adjusted to where its about even with the bottom of my nose. Sometimes I raise it during the daytime but never at night

Only took about an inch off of mine but it was enough to get the top out of my line of sight.

I see someone already posted a video... great video btw. It's not hard, just take your time and prepare well.

I did pretty much the same thing as the video shows. I used poster board, tape, jigsaw with a fine toothed new blade, then power sanded with a small rotary sander.

Someone says, no problem.
I've posted that same video about 20 times now. Whenever someone new wants to know how to cut a windshield.
