Today the zipper on my chaps got stuck and I ended up breaking a tooth out. Not sure if I'll be able to repair it, but I'll try. They were cheap and have lasted me about 7 years, so I'm not complaining, but I'm still mad about it.
So the search began for new chaps. My first stop was Fox Creek as they have a jacket I've been fawning over for some time and I'm impressed with the quality of their product, and the lifetime warrantee.
Searching the site, I found chaps to replace mine for a relatively low price, but of course I got to looking at other products and found these pants. Wondering if anyone has tried them and what they thought.
I wear leather neck to toe all year round, so I'll get something one way or the other. Just mad I'll have to ride home tonight without my chaps.
They fit well over my pants, but I do need to wear belt on them. I don't wear belt normally.
Decent size pockets on them and they are easy on and off once you've done it a few times.
That's the option I'm going to investigate first. I can't sew but my wife can. And where do I get zippers that long? This is an area in which I'm very ignorant.

The site recommends 2 inches larger than your pant size. I wear 34" so according to that I'd get 36". Was this the way you ordered them as we'll? I'm wondering, why the belt?
My other thought was to get them in 38 and wear a belt so I had room for layers in the winter. I ride all year.

Yes I got them 2 inches longer and they fit perfect length wise. I wear 30 inch waist pants and ordered 34 inch to fit over layers when it's cold.
Not ice cube north cold but much cooler than 115 degree plus summers here.
I did notice that. My thoughts drifted to more coverage in cold temps lol. The lined chaps are thick, but have the obvious uncovered areas that might get cold.
Might just get the lower cost unlined chaps for warm temps and hold off for winter for the pants. Assuming I can't replace my zipper. Either way, they look nice and I can see them being useful. Based on your input, I'll go 4 inches larger and belt them.
