I've seen a lot of similar such posts on here and the best advice I've heard was to rent each model you are considering for a day and see what fits. May save you from making a $15,000 mistake since both models you like differ from each other so much.
Your choice will kind of depend on you needs. Are you planning to do lots of road trips or just do local cruising and shorting tours?

What he said! And, once you commit, your money is gone. You will not ever get it back in most cases, even if you sell it the same day you buy it! Think ahead, you may not think you want to do longer road trips, but that usually changes for most people! But the Bob is not a bad bike for road trips, my wife loves hers, and I ride an EGC........a lot of our riding is longer trips. Off to Knoxville this summer for the national for example. It's a comfy, very well handling bike. She has the 06 (88") 6 speed. All the power she wants. But the King (also an awesome bike!) and the Bob are 2 very different motorcycles. Rent em, ride em both, make your choice! Good luck, have fun. (the new bob would have a 2 year warranty also, something to consider) and it would be new (YOURS first!)
