Default oil filter question, sorry!

I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but I am a new HD owner as of this week so please cut me some slack. What oil filter do you recommend? Is the K&N good or should I stick with the HD store brand? (or some other brand)

Thanks

Either filter works very well with your Harley. Personally, I just generally buy 3 or 4 Harley filters at a time and it covers my oil change services for most of the year.

Can't go wrong with the HD filter especially while bike is under warranty. I'm currently using K&N because I get them for less.

A couple of years ago at Sturgis I bought a K&p filter for my Big Dog and liked it so much I bought another for the SG. No more buying filters, and for the first couple of oil changes, there were bits of paper in the screen when I cleaned the K &P.
I'm pretty sure you can google or find them on EBay.
I ride a lot of miles and tend to keep bikes a long time, so it's worth it....and the filters are great looking too.

Really...you can't go wrong with either. But like rhillbilly, I like the easier removal of the K&N.

Just don't check in, read and learn and maybe one day you can help out a brother.

if you stick with OEM filter, go to k Mart or sears & buy the claw 3 prong universal oil filter tool.
