Go to the dealer and sit on the ones you like the look of , then ride the ones you felt most comfortable on. If you don't like those then ride some more.
I went to the dealer to buy a specific model and within 5 minutes of riding it I decided it wasn't the bike for me. So I tried something else. Only you can decide what's best for you.
find a way to ride any model your thinking of for sure.... i went on looks alone and bought a wide glide and although i do really love it i know its not the right bike for me and if i were to do it all over again i'd have a dyna superglide or street bob.
my bike rocks its just not for me. doesnt matter what anyone else thinks is the coolest bike ever or the perfect bike it all comes down to what it feels like after you've ridden it and a few others to compare it to.
edit to add lol i say its not for me but spend every waking moment thinking of excuses to get my *** on it. i love when she runs out of toilet paper, milk, pepsi, lol 2000 mi in 2 months without leaving the state....

Yeah I understand what your saying about not being the bike for you I liked my vulcan but I felt like it wasnt me I feel like I wanted more sportier look and feel but with comfort also....I really like the street bob there is a few on craigslist that are in my price range I might have to look at them after the wedding
I spent most of my life on sportbikes or sport standards, with the last one being a 2005 FZ1. Very nice bikes to be sure. I switched tp a Road King about three years ago. A great bike, fun for traveling, and hard to beat when riding two-up. I ahve nothing but good things to say about the RK.
I have been to three Harley Demo Days. They were a lot of fun, and very informative. I tested every model available. SOme models are very similar, and some are very different. Not necessarly bad, just different.
Last weekend I traded in the RK for a used Fat Bob. I had no real reason to switch rides. I just like to change every once in a while. The FB is much sporterier than the RK. IMO the Fat Bob is the most sporty of the big twins, but still comfortable for two-up riding.
I would encourage you to find and attend a demo days at a nearby dealer. It will allow you to compare bikes back to back so you can make an informed decision.
Or just get a Street Bob. There're great bikes and fun to ride.
