ordered some parts from zanotti's and i got an email saying some of the items are back ordered...
and goes on to show a "release date" for 1 item and the other says "HD shows no release date at this time" wtf does that mean? what the heck is a "release date" anyway?
what...are the coming up for parole? getting off for good behavior?
i paid the bail....sheeesh!
Should just mean that they are new parts that have not been released out to the public yet... The Harley catalog always has stuff that is not available yet.
Back ordered means just that Zanotti's stocks certian parts on hand, when you order something they don't have, they order it from Their supplier (HD) if HD has what they need they send it to Zanotti, if they don't have it they look to their supplier and then statements like "HD shows no release date at this time" show up cause their supplier doesn't know when they will be able to fill the order.
Back ordered usually means the parts exist and are in transit to HD, and will then be passed on to the dealers.
I ordered from Zanotti's once- got an email saying 'some items' were on backorder- not what was on backorder, or when it would be available, or anything. I emailed them back and they got a little more specific for me.
You would think they would let you know that somthing wasn't available when you ordered it.
I agree, however the computer at Zanotti, isn't real time. I've drawn parts, or tried to at the dealer, the computer says 2 of the parts are down stairs, when the parts guy goes to get it, he comes back up and says sorry, nothing there, we will have to order it. Sometimes later that afternoon the parts guy will get ahold of me and say that Volvo says the part is back ordered. (see previous post)
It's Harley-speak for "you'll get it when you get it"
yeah i figured that...grrrr...it's not like theyre 07 or 08 parts that havent been released to the public yet...just some dang triple trees ! for an o6
