Having a problem with the break lever on my 07 road king custom.as soon as you put the slightest pressure on it the break light comes on but it doesnt go off when released unless i physicaly push it forward.i dont know how long its been doing this as i just noticed it.is there a return spring on the switch that should be allowing it to go off when the lever is released that goes bad?if i just rest my hand on it the light comes on and stays on until i push forward on the lever..any thoughts? I haven't done any mod's other than put a new battery in. Thanks
on an 07 there is no cable or spring. sounds like the 'tit' on the brake light switch has been broken off. if you pull on the lever and look in there you'll be able to see the switch.
don't feel alone, a lot of us have broken that thing when changing out levers. hell, what i'm doing right now is i drilled a hole in the lever on the part that presses the switch. threaded a really small button head screw in there so that the head of the screw will hit on the switch.
otherwise, about $25 from j&p (with shipping) or twice that from hd for the switch.....
