Cam questions - please.
I know this has been beat to death, but it's new to me. I hope you guys can help me out.
I have an 03 FXD with a TC88. I did a Stage One with SE breather and Khromewerks slip ons and a rejet several years ago. Everything was fine til:
The cam chain tensioners went and took the oil pump and cams with them. I replaced with the Hydraulic Tensioner kit and high flow oil pump. I did some research, and called Andrews and talked to the guy there. He advised me to go with the TW26A cam.

I got these cams and have the bike back together and I'm kind of disappointed. It lost all it's *****. It used to pull like hell, now it makes a lot of noise and sounds really cool, but it doesn't pull like it used to. Did I screw up and get the wrong cams? I wasn't looking to upgrade performance, just get it back to up and running, but I at least wanted it to run as good as it did before all this. Everything I've read about these cams say it's a definite upgrade for a stock TC88. I was hoping that these would be an added benefit.
Here's what the Andrews catalog says:
Stock Bolt-in cam 88-95 inches and stock compression ratio.
Intake -- timing open = 11° --- Timing Closed = 35° --- @.053 Duration = 226° --Lift =.490
Exhaust - timing open = 41° --- Timing Closed = 09° --- @.053 Duration = 230° --Lift =.490
Great for two up touring, this cam will add torque and HP at lower and middle RPM ranges. (1800-5200 RPM)
Any advise you guys can offer? What the hell happened? Will I notice the difference with the ol lady on the back (is a Dyna just too light?)? Do I need to rejet? Am I not holding my mouth right?
Thanks!!!
