Default No More Tears

Went for a short ride yesterday with my new WileyX Black Ops Airrage prescription glasses with XTRActive transition lenses.

Was only able to get her up to 60 for this test but no tears so far. Wasn't the brightest of days either so no opinion on the XTRActive lens yet either. The Airrage frames are nice but I can see they will take some getting used to with my prescription closing in on the limits of being possible in a curved lenses. I have a small head so the frames are small which makes the field of view small once you throw in progressive bifocals too.

Now all I need is no rain on a day off for along ride. Was planning on riding to the office tomorrow (bout 150 mile to NJ Shore) but now I see there is a good chance of showers both there and here in MD.

I'm curious to know where you purchased these from and how much they cost. I am interested in getting a pair of progressive bifocal, Transitions dedicated biking glasses. Thanks!

I have been using the Wiley X for around 7 years and really like them for keeping bugs, dust and pollen out of my eyes. But with my prescription the optometrist said that a flat lens would give better vision. Most of the time now I use a military Ray Ban frame with just the distance scrip.

While I have glasses with the progressive lenses, I don't like that narrow field of view.
When riding I want to see and be able to identify anything running out from the side of the road. If the speedo is a little fuzzy I can live with that.

Wish I had enough hair to use shampoo and get soap in my eyes

I went through SportRX and had them send me 3 different frames to try for fitting. They charge you for the frames and then reimburse you once they are received back in same condition.

The Airrage frame was $87 and my lenses with the progressive bifocal was $240 (this is typical for my prescription), then I added the XTRActive Grey transition for another cool $100 and the premium anti-reflective coating for $50. Then talked them into a $33 discount which gave me a grand total of $444. Enough to make your cry!

Never had the anti-reflective before so figured I would try it on this set, it is supposed to provide anti-reflection as well as more durability to the lens (kind of scratch protective). Time will tell if hat $50 was worth it or not.

i went with the wileyx- black op gravity, bifocal, transition lenses and polycarb material..less than 200.00 From these folks....Rx-safety out of New Jersey...... if or when I have to replace these, i'll will probably just go with the scrip for distance view...the upclose for reading is probably not necessary.......

Sounds like a great investment. Which reminds me...I need to get my glasses looked at, since it's been 10 years when I got them.
