So I came upon some money for my bike all of a sudden and decided to throw some upgrades at her. As of now I've ordered the following;
Shotgun Shock
Chrome front end
Progressive monotubes
Oil cooler
and a Mustang seat
Also I will be getting a D&D Fatcat and plan on either going with a Fuel Moto 107" kit or just doing a TW222 cam swap. I'm on the fence with this one, if I just do cam swap I'll have a good chunk of change left over for incidentals, specialty tools I can't borrow/rent, oh **** type things that I can't think of off the top of my head. If I go with the 107" kit I will have a pretty slim budget left over for the above mentioned things. A hundred bucks here a hundred there could really screw me. Also I'm the running the stock compensator still and figure if I do the cams only I'll have the budget left to swap it with the SE compensator. Kinda have my doubts about spending the money for a 107 and leaving that POS in there. Already have a Power Vision to take care of the tuning. Money is hard for me to come by so I got one shot at this, add to that the fact that I'm OCD about trying to get things perfect the first go around, it's got me pulling out what hair I got left.
I'm gonna think about things over the weekend and hopefully order the remaining parts on Monday. I'll keep the thread updated and post pics of the install in case anyone's interested. Any advice is always appreciated as I've never torn into a motor before.
Here's a pic of how it sits now.

Whether or not you go with a 107" kit would depend on how you use the bike. If you do a lot of long distance touring, like I do, then I would say all you really need to open the bike up nicely is a good exhaust (D&D Fatcat would be perfect), the right cam (now there's a whole other discussion), a non-restrictive air cleaner, and some sort of fuel management system (which you already have). I think just doing that will be an eye opener. Do that first, then see if you still think you need a 107" kit. I'd be surprised if you do.

Mostly i ride up in the mountains climbing up and down hills all day, that's where i think the extra power of the 107 would come in handy with me and the wiife on on the bike. As far as needing the 107 that's not the case as i know cams will be plenty, hell stock would work but where's the fun in that .

Speaking as one who's done three makeovers on my '06 FLSTCI, I'd say not doing it is NO fun! If you're going up and down mountains, I'd just mention it's a good idea, when selecting cams, to select some that work more in the low- and mid-ranges than in the upper RPM range. Kind of obvious....sorry.

Got the rear shocks off, shotgun should be showing up tomorrow!
Went ahead and said screw it and went with a 106 and TW-555 cams. I'm sending the jugs out to a local performance shop to get done and while I have the heads off he's going to go through them freshen them up a bit and redo the valves if they need it. Ordered the SE compensator as well, figured it would be worth it in the long run. Jugs go out to the shop this weekend and should get done sometime next week right around the time most of the rest of my parts come in. Now I just have to play the waiting game for a bit. The worst part is getting the shotgun shocks a day or two before tearing the rest of the bike apart.
