i ride with a bell vortex ff, and im very happy with the quality, the visors has positive detents in the up, cracked a bit, and full down positions. takes seconds to change out from clear to smoke visors, and the ventilation is excellent with the option to close the vents individually to customize your air flow to your personal tastes
When I started riding in the '60s Bell helmets were some of the best on the market. I was just about to order a Bell pit boss today. However the sales guy told me that although they were good at one time they have focused on bycycle helmets and let the motorcycle line slide.
I also heard they are trying to pick up the slack and make a better motorcycle helmet lately.
So I'm looking for opinions. Are they a low quality lid?
They have been getting great reviews on a number of sites lately. Check out the reviews on www.webbikeworld.com. My next helmet will probably be the Bell RS-1. Their vented helmets have some of the best venting on the market.
I remember Bell helmets in the 70s costing more than the others, sort of making them seem like the Rolex of helmets. I know I couldn't afford them back then.
I had a Bell in the 70's and now have a 500 and a Pit Boss. Both very well made and comfortable, I use the Pit Boss all the time, nicest half helmet I've had.
I have a Bell, but am also in the market for a new helmet. I have seen those new Bell Rouge helmets, but no place around here sell Bell helmets. Good to hear positive reviews on the brand.
