Not matter how bad my day is, I can never be in a bad mood after a ride no matter how short or long. If I'm king of the world a ride would be required before any world leader makes a major decision. Clears your head and helps you think straight.
I totally agree....I hadn't ridden for 6 years before I bought my latest bike and after riding that thing for 2 or 3 miles I couldn't understand why I had ever stopped in the 1st place...
Usually that's true for me, but lately, not as much. Mainly because I ride with a core group of 5 or 6 people. As the years go on, the only woman in the group is getting more & more annoying. There's always a HUGE gap between her and the person in front of her. I mean, sometimes she lags behind 1/3 mile and everyone behind her is stuck! It annoys the **** outta me because not only do I constantly have to slow down so she can catch up, but it gets dangerous when cars start pulling in between and separating the group. God forbid we hit any curves because they cause her to slow down even more. They're such good friends, but I'm quickly getting real tired of this kind of riding. Here's the even more f*cked up thing - when she leads, she rides like normal!
Anyway, the normal zen I used to feel while riding is now being overpowered by this constant annoyance and it's probably time for me to find another group or ride solo...
Usually that's true for me, but lately, not as much.
Well let's put a little perspective on that ...
Suppose you broke your ankle and had to have surgery, which laid you up for the best riding months of the year (here) - Sept, Oct, Nov. (Happened to me) Couldn't ride at all.
Now, would riding with her instead be all that bad?
