2010 FXD
I picked this model because I wanted a light weight big twin with twin shocks (traditional). I also didn't want spoke wheels or forwards. Add quality suspension, comfortable seat, engine mods, etc... with the proper setup you have a kick *** ride for any occasion.

Have both a Electra Glide and a Sportster. Tour bike for to and from work, 2-ups and trips. Sportster cuz I'm in touch with my feminine side! ;-) Sorry couldn't resist, Sporty is actually my wife's bike but fun to zip around on sometimes (both the wife and Sporty).

The reason I now ride a 2013 Heritage softail is because I went to the dealer to trade in my 2008 Anniversary Street Glide (cause I just could not get used to the color) and buy a Road King.
I rode some Kings they had in the used bikes area and they just did not fit me. Bars were uncomfortable and sitting on top of the bike not in it.
My second choice was a Heritage and I wanted black (was not going to get into a color issue again).
They had one in the service area that had not even been placed on the floor yet, they threw a plate on it and let me take her out.
Love at first sight!! The bars were perfect, seat comfortable, exhaust was pathetic (that was quickly fixed).
I still wonder if I should have gotten the King, but it would have been a couple thousand more and then another couple thousand to make it comfortable for me.
I do miss the cruise control a bit but not enough to take the smile off my face.
If I could I would have a second "touring" bike, but my wife's says I can have a second bike over her dead body. I asked her when she was going and she will not tell me

I picked my 2011 Nightster because I love the style of the barebones no bs bikes. I ride it everyday as it is my main mode of transportation. I like how maneuverable it is and it has enough power to get me away from any dumb *** who is texting, eating and picking their nose all while attempting to drive. It's a great bike and its a great fit for me and for my needs.

Although I had bought a new "bagger" in '75, it wasn't until the summer of '99 that I made up my mind again to another "bagger".
I purchased a black, 2000 Ultra Classic and kept it until last fall and sold it with almost 80,000 miles on it.
I really liked that bike and with upgrades like a 1550 kit, a Baker DD6 tranny, the Hyd-Cam Update Kit, lots of chrome goodies, and looking may years newer than it really was, made it very easy to sell.

I immediately replaced it with a new 2013 CVO S/E Ultra and I know that I will also have, and ride it for many years and miles.

An although I am really a "touring" style rider, for the short runs on hot summer days, I'll take my '98 Anniversary Edition Heritage Softail Springer out for a ride.

I ride a RoadKing because I feel it is the best combination of form & function...Not as good looking as a Softail, but better looking than a full dresser (I hate fairings) And completely practical for my purposes.

The Softail Slim I have now came about to make the OL happy. Before I had a nightster that I absolutely loved. I am partial to the bobber/chopped look. For many years I tried to convince the OL to learn to ride but she just wasn't having it. I bought the Slim so I can still have the bobber when I'm solo but something a little bigger and softer for when she's on the back. The Slim is definitely growing on me but I do dearly miss my little nightster.
