I switched to Mobil 1 15W50 from Amsoil many years ago because I wouldn't have to carry oil when on a road trip. You can find Mobil 1 everywhere.
But if you have oil with you and you're taking a break at the old Roy's Motel in Amboy, CA (been closed for years) you don't have to do anything but pour it in. To roll out on an extended trip with a large air cooled motor and no spare oil is optimistic as best.
In this day and age, not having all the things you might need like oil, tire plug kit, Co2/air compressor, tools, etc. can put you in a bind. Maybe even leave you in a place where you aren't the tallest thing on the food chain.
...There is a Honda dealership close...am I correct in assuming that they would have Amsoil in stock?...
WTF wouldn't you just call the store to find out, instead of posting on a forum?
This reminds me of a cousin who, noticing the juice in the fridge had turned sour, wrote on the container: "this juice is spoiled", instead of just dumping it out so his brother wouldn't drink it. Duh!

I've ridden to Sturgis 3 times from California, around the Grand Canyon, and traveled most of the western states, and never had a problem finding oil. Now, I do carry tools, tire plug kit, etc........but when I stop for gas, I check my oil. If its low and can get oil then. After all, gas stops are about every 200 miles.
When you service the bike, you pump grease into the zerk fitting on the head tube until it oozes out the top and bottom. After that, it will continue to ooze and drip. You just wipe it up once in a while. When it stops oozing grease, it's time to grease the steering head again.

There are places I travel where oil isn't accessible; like the photo of me in my sig. There's a lot of it in the pipe next to the road, but not in quart bottles

At home for the rest of the day (gotta mow my yard) and then out again tomorrow morning...heading north.
I usually carry oil with me when I'm gonna be gone more than a day or two...it's always in my saddlebags...this time it was still in my other saddlebags.
Fought some vicious crosswinds coming up the Vantage Hill on Friday...those who live in WA may be familiar with this area that's known for strong winds. 35mph winds that day and 50mph gusts according to the radio. Gets scary when trucks get blown outta their lane.
