Shouldn't have to do this! We pay tax on fuel and tags just like any other vehicle. This is a design flaw in the system, the system needs fixed or replaced. I bet when that system was placed in the ground the maker of that system and other municipalities that already were using that system new about the flaw. That's one of the problems now a days. People do not do product research or even call someone using the exact same system to see how they liked it or report any problems. It's all about the under the table kick back..........so the only thing to do now is sue the municipality to get them to change it! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. FT
I don't know, but most of them do work. You just occasionally come across a broken one that's not sensitive enough. I think it's like anything, it's performance degrades with time. Maybe they have to re-calibrate it once in a while or replace the loops in the road. One phone call to city engineering and I bet they'd repair the broken ones. I've had good luck calling them in the past, usually are very receptive to getting feedback from the public.
