while we're on cleaning subject. I have a vinyl tank bib. When I put armoral on it gets on the tank paint when I clean the tank it washes the armoral off. vicious cycle any ideas
I use HondaBrite...it's spray on then wash off. Works pretty good too.
On another note. I've got some bug stuff, almost looks like stains, where bugs sat on my fairing for a few days from a road trip before I had a chance to clean. What's the best way to get it off? Tried letting a wet towel soak on it, but it didn't work.
Big bucket of lukewarm water then take a leak in it. The ammonia makes it shine real good.
Ha. Bet you don't have a problem with strangers sitting on your bike.
For a good wash, I use a light rinse with a hose. Then normal car wash soap in large bucket. Start at top and work down. Rinse and blow dry.
I have used all kinds of waxes and mist detailers. Original Spirits is inexpensive and works well. Nice for taking bugs off. I use Mothers Carnuba wax before winter storage, but it doesn't seem any better than Original Spray.
I don't like S100. Etched aluminum on previous bike. Only use diluted Simple Green/Magic Eraser on WWs.
Nevr Dull on wheels and Chrome. Mothers Chrome Polish, but it is too runny. Probably just use Original on Chrome unless someone advise against that.

Sounds like you're leaving excess Armoral on the vinyl. Wipe the excess so it doesn't wash onto your paint. (I learned this with the tonneau cover on my pickup.)

Put the Armoral on a rag first and then use that rag to wipe it on the tank bib.
