2002 Fat Boy Problems
I was riding my 2002 Fatboy today and rode for about 25 miles...no issues then all of a sudden it started missing acting like it was going to stall and lunging forward then losing power. I thought it may be the plugs so I changed them. Thought it may be the Gas Tank Vent.. No Blockage...any thoughts on what it may be?

Is the bike EFI? I have recently had to replace the engin temp. sensor as well as the velocity speed sensor on the tranny a couple of years back. EFI computers rely on the input of at least 6 various sensors. My cold air sensor, located behind the air cleaner, must be cleaned annually in order to function properly (use a Mass Air Cleaning product found on this web site). The bike is getting older and things malfunction. I am thrilled to say mine is approaching 95,000 miles and still can't find a bike that I like better..... Good luck.

How many miles on the bike? And do you run non oxy gas? Ethynol gas has been known to corrode the gas line inside the tank causing air bubbles in the line on older bikes. I also have a 2002 Fatboy and I only use non oxy 91 octane gas.

You bring up good points.. The Bike only has 23000 miles and where I get my gas it dose disclose that Ethynol gas is used. Do you think draining the gas and refilling with non Ethynol gas may solve the problem or is the damage don to the gas line?

Throttle body gasket? If it's sucking too much air, you'd have to keep the throttle open to add enough gas to keep it running. Is that what you're experiencing?

It seems to idle most of the time but does shut down once in a while and it also seems to run better at about 40 MPH..very little missing..but in first and second it back fiers and misses

If it is pin holes in the gas line, you'd have to drain the tank and replace the short line inside. Wouldn't hurt to check and see if any codes are showing up on the odometer. Do you have a service manual? If not, get one!
i ahve a 02 fatboy and i went to crank it but battery was down ! i did the dummy thing and jumped of my truck while it was running. it was trying to crank before i put on the jumper cables but after i hook them up nothing! battery is good but no crank and blinker lights dont work. everything esle is coming on! please help!!!!!! could i have fried my ignition module?
