While I support any adults right not to wear one. I have no problem saying it is foolish not to.
The government should understand we have a right to be foolish

I rarely wear a helmet. I live in a state that does not require one and I do wish I could get into wearing one, but at this point I just enjoy not wearing one too much to do the smart thing and put one on.
Yah, sure the skull was crushed. But at least it didn't get a broken neck that may have been caused by the use of a helmet.
lol
That, my friend, is nonsense propagated by people looking for justification to not wear a helmet. lol
Actually it is not funny. It is really mean spirited to take away 'freedom of choice' by making a person have to consider total nonsense when making their choice. Someone could claim, and it would be as valid as the 'broken neck' nonsense, that the chin bar on a FF helmet will get caught on something while a rider, that has crashed, is tumbling down the street. And then his/her head would be torn off, leaving blood gushing out of their neck hole.
Wear a helmet, or don't. I couldn't possibly care less. Just be prepared for a life altering event worse then can be imagined. And it's even worse if a person doesn't have the 'grey matter' to pursue a career within their new level of abilities.
None...severe road rash for sure, but not much is going to prevent broken bones and internal injuries.
Buddy I work with took his Hyabusa to a road track. He and his friends wear full dress clothing with lots of armor while riding. His friend went down at about 70mph down last weekend, breaking 3 ribs, collar bone, and losing 3 teeth.
Most of the clothing that even the most diligent wear is going to protect against scrapes, but not much more (except for the helmet) .
I totally disagree with you.
Clearly you don't watch motorcycle road racing. Those guys go down a lot at high speeds and jump up and walk away. Virtually every race one or two will lose it and hit the pavement.
ATGATT makes a huge difference. It isn't stylish for the Harley Pirates, but can save your ***.

Their *** may be OK, but what about their neck?

Why ask me, watch some racing.
My observation is broken collar bones and arms are most common. Neck injuries appear to be rare.
Here, imagine hitting the ground in any of these crashes with jeans, tee and no helmet.
Thank you for agreeing with me, read post #26 in this thread. The reason for my question was to make a joke. That thump you heard when reading the post to which you responded was the 'joke' hitting the wall behind you.
I never roadraced, But I did desert race and ride off road. Trust me, those crashes in the video you posted were NOTHING.
