Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a FLHRC, (Road King) and the model FLHRCl? What does the end letter (l) indicate?

Thank you,
E-Jake

"i" = injection. "c" = carb.

I thought that FLHR was Road King, with a C it was a Road King Classic and the I meant it was Injected.

FLHR is a standard Road King (hard saddlebags) FLHRC is Road King Classic (leather saddlebags). A few years ago before all Harleys were fuel injected, you could buy a RK with a carb or one with fuel injection. To tell the difference, Harley added and I and came up with FLHRI.
So, an FLHRCI is a Road King Classic with fuel injection. I don't think Harley uses the I anymore since all bikes are fuel injected.

When they offered both carbed and injected models, the FLHRC was a carbed RoadKing Classic. The FLHRCI was a Roadking Classic that was fuel injected. The regular roadking was simply a FLHR. The "C" designates the classic as opposed to the standard with hard bags. They made a FLHRI which was a fuel injected standard roadking. The "I" is fuel injection, but the "C" is for the classic. Without the "I" it's a carbed model.

I have one and it doesn't have cruise. Newer FLHRCs = yes, older FLHRCI = no.
