Just got a letter from my dealer. The helmet I bought last year is under recall.
Recall affected helmets are:
Fulmer AF-M Modus (sizes XL, XXL, XXXL) and the SN-Snow (sizes XL, XXL, XXXL) manufactured between November 2001 and April 2006.
If you own one of these helmets you shouldbe getting a letter, but, if not you need to call Fulmer at 800-489-2300 Monday thru Friday 8AM - 4:30PM CST to get a new helmet for free. Sounds like they're even providing call tags for the defective helmets.
Manufacture date is under the "comfort pad" inside the helmet. Mine says "Dec 2005" on the right side of the helmet (it's almost engraved in the helmet material).
The letter I got didn't say. Sounds like a structural thing tho so I'm guessing it has to do with the full face flip hinge. Larger the helmet, the larger the chance of chit moving on impact.
Wolf, that's my theory anways...sounds better than "It'll explode like a grenade if you touch it!"
