engine oil

Any suggestions on best replacement engine oil for a 2004 fxstdse2 and Ohio summer? I have heard Harley or synthetic? And 90 vs 105 weight.

First, you just opened the "floodgates" so prepare for some newby "ribbing."

Second, good suggestions are "anything but HD oil"...I use M1 20W/50 V-Twin synth (available at most auto stores) and Spectro (mostly online dealers). Good luck!

I just went to Valvoline VTwin 20W50 full syn. Available at Pepboys for around $8.50/qt.

OMFG. I find that demi-glase works best in all 3 holes. When using demi-glase, just lick the dipstick and you'll know when it's time to change it. If you're in a hurry, straight weight brown gravy will work as a substitute.
