I'm thinking it was your day since you came out of it unscathed.

It is strange how much time you have to think in those situations. With the raccoons I was still leaned a bit so I knew I didn't want to hit them while leaned. I straightened up a bit and clamped on the binders and then leaned and went for a bit tighter turn till past them. If I couldn't miss them I would have nailed them straight up and with some throttle. All that thinking and acting in micro seconds.

Gonna try a breakfast ride this morning with the wife. Have to get as much riding in for her as we can, she has to have foot surgery soon and that will end her ride for the year.

I say it was a good day, as well! You're just a very observant and skilled rider who's aware of hazards...plus reacts accordingly when things go awry. That canoe deal's some pretty freaky $h@t - good save!

In riding around the Potomac and Shenandoah, there are a lot of kayak and tubing trailers hauling from downriver to up. I've been behind them many times and always wonder about something flying off. Those guys throw that stuff on he trailer, drive upriver and unload for the next group and are always in a hurry so they can get as many people out as possible in one day.
Glad you had the wisdom to stay back far enough to give you reaction time and space.

People say that you had a lot of luck. I think you showed your riding skill and experience in anticipating each possible crash and avoiding them correctly! Well done!

Damn........a flying canoe......

A great piece of riding you did there! So I guess you'll start teaching an "accident avoidance course" soon!

Glad both of you are OK!
