Default Making a Thunderheader!

About me: I'm a 33 yr old do-it-yourselfer. I have been customizing one of my bikes, my '99 sportster, and have decided that I want a Thunderheader on it. However, I'm not going to spend 6 or 7 hundo on a new one. So I bought a used Thunderheader muffler for $90. I will make the headers myself. Should be easy as I'm a pretty good fabricator. But my question is, What size header does a Thunderheader have? I want to say that I've heard before it is 2" pipe, but just wanted to make sure before I make this thing. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Standard HD is 1 3/4" ID and I believe that Thunder Header is the same.

(Besides a 2" pipe on a Sporty would absolutely kill the torque of that motor.)
