Do you wear any specific safety gear (jacket/pants, etc) besides jeans and a standard issue biker jacket? I have seen riding pants, special armored jackets and don't know how much better this stuff is compared to jeans and a motorcycle jacket. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks, guys.
I'm willing to spend whatever to get the best helmet I can find, just don't know how I feel about $200 pants.
I wear kevlar jeans. I have a few sets of my regular size, and a large set to pull over my uniform.
You can find them in prices from $60 up to $200.
I can personally vouch for the quality and fit of Diamond Gusset and Drayko. My pull overs are a cheap set of Bilts that I got on sale for $60. Gussets are USA made and only available through their webstore or military exchanges (if you're a vet). Draykos are all over the place in pricing. Google them and you'll see what I mean.
Sliders make jeans, khakis, and cargo pants. They seem reasonably priced, but I have no experience with them.
I'm all over the ballpark. I wear jeans or jeans with Kevlar. Boots or sneakers. T-shirt or mesh jacket or leather jacket. I might pick up one of those 4 season weatherproof textile jackets. A 3/4 or 3/4/full face or no helmet. I do always wear my leather gloves though.
I wear Slider jeans, ff helmet, mesh jacket, boots and gloves every time I ride. Regular jeans will not protect you very well. The Sliders are very comfortable and affordable. Their sizes run big.
