Should've been included for the price we pay!!
Look at it this way, the Goldwing which has a higher MSRP than a Ultra doesn't have a color matched inner fairing or vent, nor does the Indian Chieftain which costs the same as a Ultra but it doesn't have the vent. Just the black inner fairing. Can't really compare to much else. Few have a fairing unless you want to consider the crotch rockets and the like and few makes have a premium touring bike.

I really don't know anything about Gold Wing's, or Indian's, and really have no interest in them either and as such I don't research them.

I took care of the "buffeting thing" w/fairing wind deflectors and the half moon deflector.

My point is that nobody else is giving color matching away and they cost just as much as a Harley so why do you think Harley needs to?

Giving away? Really?

Perhaps a better question is, is why don't they?

Yep. I took one down the road at work Tuesday. The vent dramatically decreases the slight wobble caused by wind impacting the fairing. I started off with it closed and got up to about 75. I could feel a little shake in the bars. Opened the vent and it instantly stopped. Closed it and it came back. The wind is directed upward so it doesn't hit u in the face.

That's what I thought when I saw the pics, it looks more like the air would be directed almost upward against the inside of the shield, rather than at the riders face. I would also speculate that it alters the way the air flows over the windshield by the 'vented' air impacting with the air flowing over the top.

I take that back. I saw one last night.
I went to a vintage motorcycle show last night
and San Jose Harley had a black Ltd there.
The fairing looks WAAAY better in person.
The windscreen itself is a nice height.
All the hoo ha with the touch screen and all that. To me
thats BS - But to some of the "tech crowd" I'm sure it's
great !!!
I do like the new dash and the saddlebag latches etc.
Not sure about the radiators etc. Only time will tell.
So it blows the hot air out sideways. If they're gonna
water cool it ??? Why not do the cyls too? That way the
thing can sit there and idle for a year and not overheat.
They did a good job "hiding" the cooling syst - but that
will only work on the Big Taters

You ain't gonna hide a radiator on a Heritage or a Sporty
(or Dyna)

I hope that they have dielectric greased all their connections..and have a sealed radio unit.
I'm pretty sure the engineers at The MoCo would have thought of that.
