Default Variable valve timing

Ok, we've beaten the water cooling thing to death. So my question is when is HD going to come out with variable valve timing? wouldn't be hard to do. technology is out there. would make a huge difference in low end torque/high end horsepower. now for the rumor part of this!! I heard from my sisters friends brother, who know a guy whose uncle works at a bar where this guy knows somebody who sweeps the floors at corporate offices and says variable timing is coming next year on the new road glide!! let the show begin!!

Would variable timing make much difference on a 2 cylinder motor? It's probably much cheaper and easier to keep increasing the cc's to increase the power.

VVT is great on a stock engine, but when it comes time for upgrades, it becomes a PITA

I'd rather the valves we have now that don't need adjustment. Been there, done that, ain't doing it again.

variable valve timing is the cam timing changes with rpm. when you are at low speeds cam timing retards giving you better torque, as speed increases cam timing advances allowing for more useable torque and horsepower gains and better engine efficiency.

Yes, I get that, but it usually means solid lifters that require periodic adjustment. I don't need the expense or hassle.

not at all, hydraulic lifters are the norm and variable timing does not change those at all. all the cars that run VVT use hyd. lifters.

VVT looks good on paper but if they were to began putting them in bikes it would be in lieu of an egr system.
The performance factor would be secondary.

Actually they are going to due away with cams altogether. They are going to electronically activated valves. It will due away with 90% of the engine noise.
