Well, the dealer called back today and said that he found a credit union to give me 7.5% which seemed pretty fair.. Now, thanks to all of your good responses and me not being impulsive today as I was yesterday I have decided to wait a year. I think a paid for bike is a good thing. It does not owe me a dime and the new one will be an old one by next summer. I like to ride and I put 7000 miles on this summer so that 2014 will be in the same shape as my 2011 is next summer at this same time. The new one will be worth 7k t0 8k less and I will still owe money on it. I think I will keep the 5 k that I have right now and keep it safe and keep adding to it. When the time is right in a year or two I will probably just sell the 2011 outright and then buy another year or two old bike with low miles on it just like I did with the 2011.
The bottom line is the bike that I currently have is paid for and is still beautiful. Will go down the road the same as the 2014 and heads will still turn. I have some good options on the 2011 that I really like. I love the color matched dash and the 2014 does not have that.
I'm keeping the 2011 and I thank all of you fellow bikers for the great advice. I think you saved me thousands in interest. I'll keep paying my 4% car note on time and try to get that credit rating up too.
What ever you decide, get your OWN CREDIT. I can tell you the dealer is getting a kick back on that rate, dont care how bad your score. Go check out a credit union on your own dime and see what you get.

Sweet deal overall except for the interest rate. Your def doing the right thing by waiting and working on getting your credit score up. Good luck......
I been wanting a 14 also but got to thinking my streetglide is paid for and is just the way i want it plus on a new model with all the new stuff they put on I think would be good to give it a year or 2 to work out the kinks the main thing i like on the new ones is the infotainment and i have already seen a few problems posted here with those.
I go in to St Johns quit often and my Wife works at the Walmart there. I got my 11 King in Flint at vehicle city Harley. If you can get the interest rate down may be worth it. My self I'm going to buy a 15 King next year. What is the name of the salesman you are dealing with? Good luck.
I have been working with Justin Cook. He did a good job with me on getting me good money on my trade. Was able to get about 600 off of list price on the 2014 and got me 20% off of the parts I wanted to add. Vehicle City was the only dealer willing to go to work for me. Cement City was blah and Hot Rod Harley in Muskegon acted like they could care less. Justin got pushy at the end today when he could sense that I was backing out. Pulled the famous trick saying there was another person at the store waiting on my decision. He tried to get me to call his insurance agent to try and find me cheaper insurance. I'm a big boy and can do that stuff on my own. Other than that I liked him. He worked hard for the deal. Yes, I'm in St Johns off of Lowe Rd about 6 miles North of town.
Probably a very wise decision. I bought a new Ski-Doo Mach Z sled once with the triple 800 and it was so bad that I had to ditch the thing after the warranty expired. I need to remember that time, it was awful.
