Their is a metal shield on the bottom of the bulb. If you dont remove it, it will cut the bottom part of the light off during the day. If you look at the last pic of the day shots you can see only half of the light looks like it is lit up.

The bulbs come with a metal shield that blocks half the light. Use a small screwdriver and pry the two prongs out of the bas of the bulb and throw that thing away. You will get more light.

You'll also blind oncoming drivers, particularly with a 55w ballast. I pulled mine off with a 35w ballast & got flashed or hi-beamed by every driver I passed. Only way I could avoid it was to point the bucket down at the road right in front of the bike. I put it back on.

I tried to instal a 55w kit hi/low kit on my 09 nightster with a factory harley alarm and it would not allow me to put the power wire directly to the batter without my alarm going off...i tried pulling power from a ignition wire and the alarm would still go off....if anybody has ran into this issue before and can lend some info it would greatly be appreciated...and my hid kit is a DDMtuning kit
